What would you be doing?
When a customer makes an enquiry, a design is produced using our CAD package, SolidWorks. Once the customer is happy, the furniture is manufactured in the workshop – all pieces are bespoke and spray finished before installing in the customer’s home. Typical day-to-day activities will include:

  • Manufacturing furniture in the workshop using hand tools, power tools and machinery

  • Test assembling furniture and packing for delivery

  • Occasional installation of furniture on site

  • Assisting with the development of workshop processes

  • Keeping the workshop tidy and clean

  • Keeping customer records updated on Trello, our Customer Relationship Management system, and embracing the other various technologies we use.

  • Development of business processes

What type of person are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have hands-on experience with woodwork, cabinetry, or furniture using hand and power tools (this does not need to be work experience, it could be from your course or a hobby)

  • Have impeccable attention to detail

  • Have a high level of IT literacy

  • Be a confident communicator

  • Be motivated and enthusiastic to learn and progress

  • Be a problem solver

  • Be able to lift and carry, sometimes heavy, materials and construct furniture both in the workshop and customers’ homes

  • Be flexible to work additional hours at evenings or weekends during very busy periods

The following would be a bonus, but don’t be put off if not:

  • Experience or knowledge of using 3D design tools such as Polyboard, SolidWorks, Solid Edge or similar

  • A degree in furniture design or similar

  • Joinery apprenticeship qualification

  • Have a full clean UK driving licence, or willing to learn to drive, as the role requires work on customers’ sites
